Barangay Health Leadership and Management Program for the Municipality of Narra, Palawan

‘One of the barangay health teams while making their problem tree”’


Barangay Health Leadership and Management Program ( BHLMP)  intends to capacitate and empower the health leaders in the barangay to help them organize and functionalize their Barangay Health Boards. The barangay health leaders are to improve their barangay health system making health services available to the community thereby resulting to improved health outcomes.


Specifically at the end of the training, the participants will be able to:

  • Describe the health situation of their municipality and barangay
  • Demonstrate ownership and accountability for the health situation of their community
  • Describe their roles in addressing health inequities in their community
  • Discuss the importance of conducting monthly meetings
  • Discuss the importance of tracking and knowing all their clients
  • Identify the elements of effective communication
  • Enumerate the characteristics of a quality information
  • Identify the causes and implications of deaths using the 3 Delays Model
  • Present an Action Plan.

The Roll out training for batch 1 & 2 covering 23 barangays of   Narra, Palawan was held last January 19-23, 2015  at the Dolce Vita Hotel, Puerto Princesa City.
